About Me
I am currently researching the history of female correction. There are a number of these correctionist firms with which I am in regular . Examining their archives and interviewing their staff have provided me with a most valuable resource for my work. In particular, a local firm to me, Turners Slut Shamers have been very helpful. Turners is a well respected family run firm in Gloucestershire, It is owned and run by two sisters. Their family have had long history of correctionist work, The earliest known relative was their mum's great grandmother. She was the head matron at the Gloucester Work House and as such would have been responsible for overseeing any slut-shaming work carried at the home - she and her staff were busy and kept meticulous records. She ed her ion for the work on to her daughter, Emily. She set up one of the first private slut schools in the West Country, the Cheltenham Imperial School for Wayward Sluts and was the predecessor to today's Turners' Slut Shamers.
