The real challenge isn't finding cute socks or a girl that fits your preference but getting into a relationship with such a girl that also somehow shares your interest in her, at least to a certain degree. For me it diminishes the joy if I know she isn't into it and jus only does me a favor

I agree. I had a girlfriend back when foot fetishes were not as well known or as popular as they are now. One time, I put flavored lotion on her feet, sucked her toes, then came all over them. I did not do it again and we did not talk about it. She was pretty vanilla and I didn't want her to think I was "weird". Now, I would just talk about it since it is so well known.

@Copius I experienced that same situation but it didn't get that far because she showed that this isn't something she could tolerate quiet early. She was pretty insecure about erotic in general later and it felt we couldn't never come together again because I had to always resign on my needs in favor for her wellbeing. TLDR;. It didn't work and we never did anything again since

@BeeDot It helped that we were both really stoned, and that I was trying out some flavored lotion that a friend gave us. I used it on her nipples before her feet.
My theory is that everyone has some kinks and fetishes. It is probably best to get them out in the open, maybe after having regular "vanilla" sex a few times. I have not always done that, of course. I plan to do so going forward.

@Copius One should think that this is the case in 10 years of relationship but it happened to somehow got more complicated instead of getting more intimate over time. As said, in the end this was one of many death strokes to our relationship
